10-11 (NBC) The Hill Country: Lyndon Johnson's Texas is a special which has the President and Mrs. Johnson on a tour of their homeland. (Color) Ch. 3, 8, 40. President Johnson conducts a tour of the hill country of central Texas, the land where he was born and where he has lived much of his life, on "The Hill Country: Lyndon Johnson's Texas," in color, Monday, May 9 from 10 to 11 p.m.

on NBC-TV. The President describes his feelings for the countryside a hard and beautiful terrain; relates family history and personal anecdotes, and reminisces abotu his life from childhood through his career which culminated in the nation's highest office. NBC News White House correspondent Ray Scherer narrates portions of the program, but President Johnson provides most of the commentary as he guides camera crews around the 80-mile long, narrow strip of land that he calls "home."
